It may not be warm enough outside to melt any snowmen, but we’re going to melt some inside! You will need from your kit the four biodegradable snowmen (packing peanuts). Please provide water, a plate and a spoon or pipette from home. If you did not receive a kit from the library, you can call to see if we have any of the snowmen still available.

Week Two – Melting Snowmen

Draw faces on the other three snowmen. Place all of them on a plate or cookie sheet.  Fill a small bowl or cup with water.  Using either a spoon or dropper, slowly drop water on each of the snowmen.  What is happening? Are the snowmen shrinking? Are they disappearing?

The snowmen are made from biodegradable materials that will melt when liquid is absorbed.
