Summer Reading Spotlight: Reading Challenge

As we gear up for summer reading, we want to spotlight some of the fun events and programs happening at the library. Today’s spotlight is our Summer Reading Challenge. The Challenge is open to readers of all ages!

1. Sign Up!
Sign up to join the Challenge by downloading the Reader Zone app, or create an account online. Use this summer’s reading code which is: C 2 7 7 6. Join the appropriate reading group, Preschool-12th Grade or Adults.

2. Log Your Reading!
Start logging your reading on June 1st. Preschool-12th Grade will log minutes read, Adults will log books. All reading counts, including audiobooks, eBooks, and being read to! The Challenge ends July 31st.

3. Earn Rewards!
Preschool-12th Grade participants earn Reading Rewards for logging minutes read. Reading Rewards can be picked up anytime the library is open. Earn Reading Rewards by hitting the following milestones:
*250 Minutes Read
*500 Minutes Read
*750 Minutes Read
*1000 Minutes Read

Preschool-12th Grade readers who reach the 1000 minutes read milestone receive a certificate for a free book of their choice, courtesy of the Friends of the Bennington Library.

4. End of Summer Prizes!
All Reading Challenge participants earn 1 entry in the End of Summer Prize drawing for every 250 minutes read (Preschool-12th Grade) or every 3 books read (Adults). There is no limit to entries, so keep reading and logging throughout the Challenge! Winners will be notified by the Summer Finale Party on Saturday, August 5th.
