As we end another great summer of reading, we want to thank all of our patrons for such a great season!
This year, the Bennington Public Library community had over 850 children, teens and adults participate in our Summer Reading Challenge, which translates to over 450,000 minutes read!
Highlights of the summer included ocean-themed Storytimes, hundreds of LEGO creations, minds at work during Preschool and Elementary STEAM, plus some amazing Teen Art Shows and programs. Many thanks to all of our wonderful community partnerships that made this summer so outstanding!
All participants: Reading prizes for reaching 250 minutes, 500 minutes, 750 minutes, and 1000 minutes during the Summer Reading Reader Zone Challenge will be available for pickup at the Bennington Public Library anytime during library hours, while supplies last.
If you logged at least 250 minutes of reading this summer (or 3 books for adults), you are automatically entered into our drawing for End of Summer prizes. (Each 250 minutes/3 books read=1 entry.) Winners will be contacted via email by September 1st.
1000+ Minutes Logged: Children and teens who participated in the Summer Reading Reader Zone Challenge and logged 1000 or more minutes of reading time will be sent an email that will include a link to a special online book request form! Watch for this email to arrive in your inbox on August 3rd and be sure to complete the online form by August 10th. Thank you to the Friends of the Bennington Public Library for their sponsorship and support of this program.
Free book and drawing prizes will be distributed on Saturday, September 10th from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM in the Library Community Conference room.
