Summer S.T.E.A.M. Activity Bundle #3

June 27, 2020

STEAM Activity Bundle #3 will be ready for pickup Monday, July 6, Wednesday, July 8, and Saturday, July 11 from 10 AM to 2 PM.

The the third elementary bundle is all about fairy tales. It comes in a pizza box courtesy of Cubby’s/Godfather’s Pizza Express in Bennington and includes instructions for building a solar oven and creating a paper “candy” house. The preschool bundle includes a Three Little Pigs STEM challenge, texture sorting and a Five Little Gingerbread Men counting game. We hope you enjoy them!

Remaining Prize Pickup Days – July 6, July 8, July 11, July 20, July 22, July 25, July 27, July 29, and August 1 from 10 AM to 2 PM.

Follow the signs leading to Community Conference Room C on the east/park side of the building.

Read or listen to books and earn prizes until July 30th. Preschool through 12th graders can win up to four prizes–one for each 300 minutes read and tickets for the end-of-summer prize drawing–one for each 300 minutes read. The fourth and final prize (for reading 1,200 minutes or more) is a free book of your choice courtesy of the Friends of the Bennington Library.

Adult participants win tickets for the drawing, too…one for every three books read!

Our Summer Reading theme for 2020 is “Imagine Your Story”, focusing on all things fairy tales, fables, folktales, and fantasy.

Preschool through 12th graders can win up to four prizes–one for each 300 minutes read and tickets for the end-of-summer prize drawing–one for each 300 minutes read. Adult participants win tickets for the drawing, too–one for every three books read!

This month’s Prize Pickup dates are June 15, 17, 20, 22, 24, & 27 from 10 AM to 2 PM.

We miss seeing your children’s smiling faces. Since we aren’t able to do activities together at the library this summer, the library staff has put together some take-home STEAM activity bundles (preschool and/or Elementary) for you to do with your family at home. We hope you enjoy them!

Pickup dates and times for this first bundle are Monday and Wednesday, June 15th and 17th, 10 AM to 2 PM.

CURBSIDE PICKUP SERVICE

Here’s how it works:
We are committed to providing safe access to physical library materials through a limited curbside pickup service.

Curbside pickup step-by-step:

  1. Place items on hold.

Use our online catalog to search for items.

Place items on hold.

  1. Wait for notification, then call us to schedule your pick up.

You will receive an email or phone call when your hold is available for pickup.

After you receive notification, call the library to arrange an estimated time of arrival so staff can have your items ready.

Staff will check out your items, put them in a bag, and place the bag outside the front entrance.

  1. After calling, pick up your items at your scheduled time.

Bags will be outside near the front entrance.

Find the bag labeled with your first name and last initial.

Grab your bag and enjoy!

We are accepting returns in our outdoor book return.
