Social Knitworking & Sewing Workshop

September 23, 2019

Calling all volunteers! Please join us and members of the GFWC Bennington Woman’s Club at our 4th Saturday Social Knitworking event October 26 from 10 AM to Noon in the Bennington Public Library Community Conference Center. We will be making children’s tote bags. All are welcome to help us keep alive the long tradition the library has had of giving out home-sewn book bags to children who sign up for a library card for the first time.

Beginners and all skill levels are welcome. The instructions used to make the tote bags are from a 4-H pattern and perfect for beginners. If you have a sewing machine that you are willing to lug to the library–great! If you have sewing scissors you can bring–great! If you have fabric you’d like to donate to the cause–great! Just a half yard of fabric is enough to make two tote bags.

For more information contact Lisa Flaxbeard at the library 402-238-2201.
